Kansas City Researcher Chi-ming Huang, an associate professor of biological sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City has been developing an “active helmet” that “dissipates impact energy away from the head and neck to other parts of the body” utilizing rods from the helmet to the shoulder pads that stabilize at impact.
